The People God Uses to Shape You
July 4, 2026 | New Life Team
Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to grow when you try to do everything on your own?
Most of us have seasons where we push through, stay busy, and hope things will sort themselves out, yet Scripture keeps reminding us that spiritual growth does not happen in isolation.
God shapes us through people who walk into our lives with purpose and grace.
« As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.»
— Proverbs 27:17
Some people lead us forward. They see potential in us that we have not yet recognized, and they speak truth in a way that strengthens rather than discourages.
Their presence stretches us, not to overwhelm us, but to help us grow into the person God is forming.
Some people walk beside us. They lift our arms when life feels heavy, and they remind us that we are not meant to carry everything alone.
Their encouragement has a way of restoring courage at the very moment we feel drained, and their steady presence becomes a quiet gift from God.
And some people grow because of us. God invites us to pour into someone who is learning to follow Him, and when we share what He has taught us, our own faith stays alive and grounded.
Our stories and lessons become seeds that shape someone else’s journey, often in ways we do not see right away.
So here is a simple reflection for your week:
Who is leading you, who is walking with you, and who are you pouring into?
Ask God to open your eyes to the people already around you. The relationships that shape us are often closer than we think, and the person someone else needs may very well be you.
